Jonatan Espinoza is a muralist of extraordinary range. From rural Nicaraguan communities to downtown Bloomington, his murals transform the places where people live, work, play, and gather.
Indiana University just won the National Football Championship, and Jonatan Espinoza is painting the mural that celebrates it. Located in the heart of downtown Bloomington, this massive work will span over 50 feet wide and approximately 20 feet tall, making it one of the largest public murals in the city's history.
The mural will carry the IAP Foundation mark, directly connecting Jonatan's public art to the humanitarian mission. A Nicaraguan artist, brought to America by an IU alum, paints the work that celebrates the university's greatest athletic achievement.

Commission a Mural
One of the first major projects after Jonatan's arrival in the United States was the garage mural at Daniel Gupta's Bloomington residence. The house sits on 13 acres and is the first property visible coming off the highway into Bloomington. The garage mural took seven months to complete, with Jonatan and a second artist working on it together.
The result is a massive, immersive piece that has become an iconic Bloomington landmark. Social media content of the house, including the mural, has reached over 500,000 views.
Before coming to America, Jonatan painted murals across rural Nicaragua. His first major community mural was a 12-foot by 40-foot piece on the concrete wall behind the first playground he and Daniel built together. He led a team of five artists on that project.
These murals were never created for galleries or collectors. They were made for the communities that needed beauty in the places where children play and families gather.
Jonatan creates murals for private residences, commercial spaces, institutions, and public installations. Indoor and outdoor. Every commission can be connected to an IAP humanitarian project.
